Other record companies release the same old stuff over and over again. But we don't! For years at Jazzman we've been trawling the bottomless pits of used record bins, tracking down old musicians and persuading the worlds greatest record collectors to part with their gems - and yet again we've surfaced with a bountious treasure of unknown and obscure aural artefacts! Only the best music gets a release on one of our 7" records. We select the sublime and the obscure, the grand and the glorious. DJs & music lovers alike all over the world make sure they get one for their box. And unlike most record companies we make sure BOTH sides are KILLER sides! And only the best of the best gets chosen for our CDs! Hunk of Heaven includes 12 songs, all taken from our fourth batch of 7" releases. Marlena Shaw, with her classy version of the anthemic "California Soul", lays down some impeccable credentials to start. Then there are essential recordings by the much-loved jazz divas Lorez Alexandria and Carmen McRae, the heat is turned up on the dancefloor with Hawaii's Lemuria, heads are turned by the unknown Masequa Myers, and things are chilled with Gettysbyrg Address. Add the others and you'll agree that when we say only the best will do, we mean it!
